Count Out Dyslexia provides a dyslexia screening service. This is great for quickly and affordably counting in or out dyslexia as a worry. The reports use the language of ‘risk of dyslexia’. If the risk is low, you can safely assume no dyslexic tendencies. If it is high, then it is very likely that your child has dyslexia. If you want a formal diagnosis of dyslexia, this requires more complex testing by a PATOSS member or an educational psychologist. In Cambridgeshire, waiting times for educational psychologists are typically 6-12 months and fees tend to be between £600 to £1000. The Count Out Dyslexia screening test will only look at dyslexia and not other learning difficulties such as ADHD, Aspergers or Autistic Spectrum Disorders. If clarity is needed on these areas too, then an assessment by an educational psychologist is recommended and we can sign-post you to the right people.
